Seen Stamkos Campaign

While watching the sports channel last night on TV, I saw this short report on Steven Stamkos. He will be picked 1st overall in this year NHL Entry draft that is being held in Ottawa, Ontario.

Marketing is an essential part of any business even for a sports franchise that is drafting a new player entering the NHL. They used many different ways to ring about awareness from billboards, to shirts, radio and even a website. Online business is no different from offline marketing. You may not have a big huge budget of a superstar or an NHL hockey team, but there are many cost-effective or even free methods to market your own website or products..

Try first to identify your market and your target. When you have you pin pointed your target you can do your search through Google to fine related blogs and forums to contribute too. Forum marketing is a very good source for new marketers because it’s free and it’s targeted. You must keep contributing regularly with some original content to build you authority there as you do not want to look like a spammer. Always answer posts and contribute relevant information to the forum.

Forum marketing is not the only source you could use to market your product. If you search, you will find both paid and free sources on the net. Diversify your marketing by writing articles, using banners, classifieds and having a blog that specifically targets your niche.

Although Steve Stamkos is unknown in Tampa Bay, Florida, it was the very targeted and intensive  marketing campaign that the organization used that branded him and made him a household name.
