I have begun a journey to become more self-aware. It is not an easy process that for sure but in time I will accomplish it. I’m sure many of you are wonder what self-awareness is as I did when I first start this journey.
Self-awareness is about trying to understand who you are and why we do the things we do, and the manner we do them in. When becoming more self-aware, we gain a better understanding on how we operate in the present instead of reacting to something familiar with in our past.
Being self aware in knowing:
- Your weakness and strengths
- how you related with others
- what you need to improve as a person
- how you see yourself
- what you want to change to better your life or yourself
- what you want in your life
Once you have pinpointed the causes of your actions you can begin the journey of repairing yourself and making a better life for you and those you come in contact with. Coming to face the different dimensions of yourself that you may not enjoy too much, you will gain a better appreciation of your own existence.
Becoming self aware does not mean being selfish though. Discovering the inner you will allow you to give more of yourself to others and this will benefit your relationships as well as helping to build your self esteem and confidence as you become truer to yourself
Here are a few other self-awareness articles I found useful in my search to become self-aware.
